Week 2: Conceptional staircase model

STAIRCASE STUDY
Above ground client: Khyzyl Saleem

Description: The stairs of the above ground is comprised of curved shapes with edges (from the building itself) , made in both glass and light concrete to show neatness and transparency, meeting the brief of khyzyl's works, which shows fluent and well-established lines, so the stairs is made of simple curves in both sides with each staircase extending from each other, creates fluency and rhythm from the side look. Also, each staircase is combined of glass and concrete, playing a role to blending the material characteristics of the building, letting visitors have a feeling of advanced cutting-edge technology of Khyzyl as only the extended part of the stairs could be stepped on.






Below ground client: Mountain and Moon

Description: I want to let visitors feel a quiet atmosphere at the below space, which is more pleasing to appreciate the elegant products of M &M. The direction of stairs has been changed between the upper part and the lower part of the stairs, which creates balance. From the front look, stairs are all pointing to the middle, becoming joint of focus, then meets the brief of the jewelry of M & M, which is seemed intensive but got a sense of delicacy. Also, two pieces of curved lines connect the two spaces nicely as they work in concert with the curved shape upper ground, what's more, the opposite direction of stairs could create vigorous shadows.
